A new edition of GeoGravel Tuscany – Le Strade Grigie is coming soon, and the geothermal region is preparing for a weekend of cycling, socialising, and entertainment. The official programme includes three action-packed days that will bring Pomarance to life throughout the weekend.
The event begins on Friday 30th May with the opening of the GeoVillage at 17:00 — a hub for registrations, information, and GeoBag collection. The evening will continue with a communal dinner at the Piazzone, where visitors can sample traditional Tuscan street food. From 9:30 p.m., there will be live music featuring Sofia Bardotti, Gualtiero and Roby DJ, and the ska–rock steady–beat rhythms of Maghi di Ox.
"On Saturday 31st May at 10:30am, a social ride is scheduled, led by my good friend Silvia Parietti," explains Paolo Bettini. "In the afternoon, at 2 pm, the GeoVillage will reopen and we will also launch the children's area with the agility course from the Regional Youth Meeting. I’m very happy that we’ve been able to introduce an activity specifically for children this year. First and foremost, it’s important that they have fun and learn to dream big. At 15:30, the athletes taking on the Ultra route — the event’s most extreme challenge — will set off. Once again, the day will end at the Piazzone with a dinner of grilled specialties and street food, followed by a DJ set featuring Ricky Le Roy, Mario Più and Alex Devil."
The main part of the event starts on Sunday 1st June, with the Short, Medium and Long routes departing between 7:00 and 10:00 am. All participants will then gather again at noon for the traditional pasta party. The weekend will come to a close with the Regional Youth Meeting for road and MTB at 2:00 pm.
"We can't wait to welcome gravel enthusiasts to Pomarance," concluded Bettini. "I'm proud that GeoGravel Tuscany – Le Strade Grigie continues to be an event for everyone, including athletes, enthusiasts, families and those who are simply curious. It offers an experience that goes far beyond cycling and celebrates a truly unique area. Here, amid lunar landscapes, tradition and sustainability, we're going to have a great time!"
