Each participant must arrive by 17.00 on Sunday 24 September to be a GGT finisher.

Art. 5: ROUTES

  • The "Ultra" route has a length of approximately 250 km and 5200 m elevation gain.

  • The 'Short' route has a length of 45.9 km and 890 m elevation gain.

  • The 'Medium' route has a length of 74.6 km and 1430 m elevation gain.

All routes, except a few sections along main connecting asphalt roads, are on paths, ‘grey road’s and secondary asphalt roads.

Each participant must load the track provided on his GPS device and follow it from the start to the finish in Larderel square. The participant must respect the track provided by the organisation and, if not, to turn back and return to it.

Participants are reminded that the track is completely open to traffic and, above all, is often used by walkers/hikers and other sportspeople such as runners and bikers. Respecting the Traffic Rules is therefore mandatory when cycling along the roads as well as respecting other users of the paths and dirt roads when cycling on secondary, smaller roads: GGT participants have no special rights or precedence over other users.

Mechanical assistance will be provided at refreshment stations. Each participant must start with equipment that guarantees him/her complete autonomy. For participants of the Ultra route, front and rear lights are mandatory during the night.

The participant must pay extra attention to all potential hazards that may be present along the route such as: bars, bollards, slippery bridges, low branches, potholes, surfacing roots and anything else that is not easily identifiable and/or explicitly signposted.

The participant who no longer feels up to continuing the ride or who decides in any case not to arrive at the finish line is committed to inform the organisation of his/her withdrawal by calling or sending a message to the secretary's office (telephone number printed on the back of the front frame number).

The participant is committed not to discard any papers or any kind of waste during his/her ride. He/she is committed to respect the woods, meadows and trails he/she will ride along with the GGT and to leave the environment as clean as he/she will find it when passing. Any reports received by the organisation will be forwarded to the relevant authorities.

Each participant must have a minimum amount of equipment during the trip.

  • Certified helmet to be worn at all times

  • Tool kit for removing the tire/tube
